Baantjer is a Dutch television programme which was broadcast by RTL 4 from 6 October 1995 until 1 December 2006 for a total of 123 episodes in 12 seasons. It stars Piet Römer as Jurriaan 'Jurre' de Cock, a police detective, and Victor Reinier as Dick Vledder, his assistant. The series is based on the novels of writer A. C. Baantjer.
A notary shows De Cock a video in which a client tells that he has been murdered by his wife and her lover. When De Cock asks how long the man died, the notary reveals that he is still alive.
De Cock and his team investigate the murder on a celebrity, and discover a connection to the trade in forged art. Also, the man's wife was having an affair. Vledder tries to get Prins to come with him to a wedding as a witness.
De Cock and the rest of the team are shocked when a young police officer is strangled during an open day at the police station. A reporter appears to know more about the murder.
