Accused of having helped the father of her son to flee with diamonds, Alice risks prison. She can't help seeing Marquand when he has to be the main witness for her defence. Prosecutor Divo uses this misstep to prevent Marquand's testimony. A corpse is then found in the basement of the courthouse. Victor, Alice's clerk, is suspected of murder.

Clément Garrel, a brilliant psychology professor, collapses in the middle of class, shot twice in the heart. During their investigation, Alice and Marquand discover that the victim had, five years earlier, participated in an extreme psychological experiment. No participant emerged unscathed.

Judge Nevers and Major Marquand go to a crime scene in a wood: Michel Aubry, a piano teacher, was hit by his own car in the middle of the night. The duo find Muriel, Aubry's wife, in bed with another man, and learn that the couple have been swinging for fifteen years. Moreover, Marquand, finally free to love Alice, is caught up in his past.

In a convent, a nun dies in the arms of a boarder, Corinne Leblanc, a former prisoner with a heavy criminal record. The victim, Sister Bénédicte, 39, succumbed to paralysis of the respiratory tract, probably caused by the ingestion of belladonna. At the same time, Lucie, Commander Marquand's daughter, is hospitalized following a suicide attempt, while she is pregnant.

Matteo Fabrizzi, an authoritarian and temperamental fashion designer, is fatally assaulted shortly after throwing a big tantrum against his staff. He was to present his new collection the following evening. The marks found on the victim's body do not allow the cause of death to be immediately determined. But Matteo was wearing a bulletproof vest, which intrigues investigators.

Alice and Marquand's investigation quickly turns to the secret and sulphurous world of Skins Parties. At the same time, while she has sworn to Marquand not to meddle in her life anymore, Alice discovers that her daughter continues to lie to her.

Julien Madek, a young man of 20, is found dead at the foot of a staircase. Abducted at the age of twelve, he had just miraculously reappeared and reunited with his loved ones. Judge Nevers and Commander Marquand have the heavy task of telling the mother that her child has been taken from her for the second time. Who could Julien's return bother? In parallel with the investigation, tension rises between Alice and Marquand: he suspects her of harboring Simon, the boy who threatens his daughter.

Louise Chevalier is hit in the middle of Paris by a car. The victim was carrying 50,000 euros in cash. A situation all the more surprising that, a few months earlier, she was only a simple saleswoman. Alice and Marquand, in charge of the case, discover that her destiny has changed when Sarah Al Khoury, a wealthy heiress from the Middle East, takes her under her wing.

A young woman, Rose Leroux, was found hanging in her wedding dress at the site of her wedding ceremony. Alice and Marquand discover that she was under a banking ban, suspected of fraud and attempted murder. She claimed to be a victim of identity theft, but even her husband doubted her. In addition, Lucie admits to Marquand that the father of her future child is threatening to attack her.
