Umemiya's aggressive yet reckless plays seems to spark Ugumori as the game goes on, despite him being picked off at the plate on what would be the tying run. As Inashiro reaches the seventh with a batter of second Umemiya, who has pitched nothing but a slow curve, is forced to unveil his power curve, which the opposition thinks is a slider. The pitch stuns Inashiro and forces a quick 3-outs. The two teams head into the eighth with the score 1-0 and the winner getting Seido in the next round.
