Zack reappears and tells Max Lydecker has captured Brin, one of their Manticore sisters, and plans to do her harm. Max decides they must kidnap Lydecker and force him to reveal Brin's whereabouts. When Max and Zack discover that Lydecker was not behind Brin's disappearance, they have no choice but to team up with Lydecker to find their lost sister.
Grissom, Sara and Warrick are called on to investigate an abandoned, blood-splattered apartment and Nick and Catherine must examine a dead scuba diver lodged in a tree.
During the investigation of an armored car heist involving the deaths of two drivers and the theft of valuable government bonds, Lt. Disher tries to convince Captain Stottlemeyer that he witnessed a murder while under anesthesia in the dentist's office. When one of the highjackers, Denny Jardeen, is found murdered, Disher insists that Jardeen is the man he saw Dr. Bloom and his assistant kill while he was sedated. Returning from a fruitless attempt to find proof of the existence of Bigfoot, the Freakylinks group comes across a town that appears to be guarding the secret behind a series of deaths that dates back nearly 150 years. All of the deaths have occurred in the woods that surrounding the town of Owensmouth. Strangely, the sheriff of the locals offers no help in the investigation. Derek, Jason, and Chloe come to discover that there may be a pre-historic pterodactyl lurking in the woods that has successfully remained hidden for years.
