The third years go on a school field trip to Kyoto. On the train there, Mio is a little annoyed at Yui's and Ritsu's childish behavior. Mio realizes that she will have to watch over both of them during the trip. After visiting various shrines and attractions, the group returns to the inn where the girls' bad habits continue to annoy Mio. The next day, they have a look around Kyoto, though Mio laments that no one wants to participate in any tourist activities. However, when they get lost on the way back to the train station along with Nodoka's group, Mio gives in to the jokey nature of the others and loosens up for the rest of the trip.

Soon, however, Misuzu's birth father shows up, and tries to claim Misuzu back from Haruko, deciding to let Misuzu decide who she wants to live with. Haruko, desperate because of Misuzu's memory loss, begs him to let her have Misuzu for 3 more days, to which he agrees.

After school the next day, Tomoya helps Nagisa get more self-confidence for the drama club by acting as a new member of the club asking questions.

Tomoya, Nagisa, and Fuko spend the night at school having a pre-celebration for Youko's wedding. In the morning, Tomoya and Nagisa have forgotten about Fuko and cannot see her. Both Tomoya and Nagisa later feel that there is something important that they are forgetting, and finally remember about Youko's wedding, which is also when they are able to see Fuko again. On the wedding day, initially the only students to arrive were Tomoya, Nagisa, and Fuko, but after the ceremony it is shown that everyone who had received a starfish came to the wedding. Fuko ultimately disappears after thanking Tomoya and Nagisa for what they have done, and congratulating her older sister. A rumor still persists at Tomoya's school of Fuko as a cute girl who is constantly running through the school.

Konata's cousin Yutaka Kobayakawa, who is also Konata's cousin Yui's little sister, has passed her high school entrance exams and will be living with Konata and her father from now on. Before a sick Yutaka took her exams, she met a girl who gave her a handkerchief. On the day of orientation and uniform fitting at Yutaka's new high school, she meets the girl who gave her the handkerchief and gives it back to her. They become friends and part ways. It was then that Yutaka realizes that she never asked for the girl's name. Kagami and Tsukasa come over the Konata's house and become acquainted with Yutaka. This week on Lucky Channel, Akira feels gypped by the fact that she only had one line in the actual show, but she wasn't on-screen. So, she decideds to initiate "Project Full Appearance in Actual Show!!!" and tells the audience to send in their support to get her in the actual show.

Konata thinks about what animal each of the girls, including herself, would be. She sees herself as a fox, Tsukasa as a dog, Yutaka as a squirrel, and Kagami as a bunny. Konata and Miyuki discuss things that can improve one's eyesight. Konata complains about how the recent elections have been screwing up the TV schedule. Tsukasa tries reading newspapers, but it's not long until she finds them hard to read. Yutaka and Iwasaki's class plays dodgeball during P.E. Later, they hang out with two of their classmates, Hiyori Tamura and Patricia Martin. On Lucky Channel, Akira and Shiraishi introduce the newest characters of the Lucky Star cast. However, Akira is mad at the fact that she still hasn't appeared in the actual show yet.
