Tom and Semir are investigating the fatal helicopter crash of property owner Karl Schmidt. The trail leads to Max Seefeld, Semir's childhood friend, who would have a motive of revenge. While the manhunt is underway, Schmidt's partner Fleischmann is murdered. The clues point to Heiner Block, the third business partner, who wants to secure his control over the hotel complex. Max calls his sister Rita and exposes Block as the culprit. Tom and Semir rush to the money handover - and make a shocking discovery.

Alarm for Cobra 11 - Season 9 - Episode 2
Semir is pursuing a young couple on the motorway who have stolen a sports car when a jeep breaks through the police cordon and crashes into the other car. One of the occupants of the jeep limps into the nearby forest with a sports bag and disappears there. A little later, Semir and Tom learn that the occupants of the jeep are bank robbers who have just robbed a branch. Andrea has been able to establish the identity via Interpol: the fugitive is a certain Pieter van Heerlen, his colleague who has been taken to hospital, a Romanian named Tadescu. The doctors determine that he is suffering from a particularly dangerous subtype of diphtheria. Van Heerlen has meanwhile taken Semir hostage and continues his escape with him. The district president orders the SEK to intervene immediately because he fears an epidemic caused by Van Heerlen, who is also ill. Tom does everything he can to help his partner before the hostage situation ends in a bloodbath.

Semir and Tom are hunting the suspected murderer Rudolf Behrmann, a police officer who is said to have shot his partner Martin Fischer. Behrmann protests his innocence and takes hostages in the office. In a conversation with Semir, he gives him the task of tracking down a man named Jürgen Blaske. Blaske turns out to be an undercover investigator who provides information about drug embezzlement by SEK officers. But Blaske is shot, and Semir and Tom must now find the real murderers before it is too late.

After an accident, ex-stuntman Danny feels responsible for his sister's illness and works for the dubious producer Weber, who stages illegal crashes. When an innocent man dies, Tom and Semir investigate and track down Weber. While Weber's client demands another crash, Danny wants to take part one last time, but has no idea that Weber wants to kill him. Tom and Semir race against time to prevent Danny's deadly stunt on the Ahrtal Bridge.

Tom and Semir come across a series of murders in the drug trade: first drivers are brutally murdered, then the drug baron Helmut Marz. Meanwhile, Tom learns that his great love Elena is pregnant - but his happiness is shattered when Zürs detonates a car bomb and kills Elena. The blind opera star Maria Struck is kidnapped by the gangster brothers Harry and Frank Kaschke, but manages to escape and causes an accident involving Tom and Semir. Maria is in shock and is cared for by the police. Their investigation leads to Maria's lawyer Dirk Schneider, who seems suspicious and claims that the kidnappers are demanding ransom again. It turns out that Schneider is behind the kidnapping plan, killing the gangsters and misleading the police, while Maria's ex-husband Wiesner is wrongly arrested.

Tom witnesses a robbery in which his former colleague Petra dies. He swears revenge and pursues the perpetrators Dräger and Habermann. Dräger kills Habermann with Tom's gun and draws suspicion onto Tom. Jenny, Habermann's girlfriend, gives false testimony, so Tom is suspended. Tom and Semir find out that Jenny and Dräger want to flee together. They catch Dräger with a trap at the airport, Jenny confesses, and Tom's innocence is proven.

The mafia killer Ante Dedic pursues Peter Schmidt and his son Robert to kill them, because Schmidt testified against the mafia years ago. After a first attack in which Peter is seriously injured and Robert is almost unharmed, Dedic plans another murder attempt in the hospital, which Tom and Semir are just able to prevent. Robert is brought to safety, but danger threatens here too. The investigations by the highway commissioners reveal that Schmidt had been given a new identity by the BKA - which suggests that someone from the ranks of the BKA has betrayed the cover.

A colleague takes over the cargo, unaware that the drugs are hidden in video recorders. Meanwhile, Elena Krüger, the head of the shipping company, turns Tom's head. But is she really the love of his life - or is she involved in the drug business?

The gangsters Schulte and Jacobsen, who work for the haulage company Lambert, do everything they can to find the camera, as it contains evidence of illegal toxic waste disposal. After a raid on Engelhardt's apartment, they manage to steal the camera. While Tom and Semir follow the trail to Bachmann, a corrupt landfill worker, a showdown with Lambert ensues.
