Frank and Tim investigate the death of a young girl whose abused body was found by the side of the interstate. Brodie goes to an interview with a new potential roommate. Kellerman finally gets his day in court, where he is supposed to take the 5th amendment. Frank and Tim disagree with their pursuit of the investigation. Frank tries a different approach with the mother and she tells him the story-- only they won't be able to get a murder one conviction. Julianna comes down to the courthouse to offer Mike some moral support. He sees Connelly come out of the courtroom and thinks things are going bad, so he prepares to give it all up. However, his appearance before the grand jury doesn't go quite as he expected. Brodie walks out of the building with his new roommate. The detectives try to celebrate Kellerman's freedom, though he has different thoughts about the situation. Murder One - Season 1 - Episode 6

In this episode, the firm hires a private investigater, Ray, to replace Dave. Julie calls Hoffman in his office and sounds like she has over-dosed on drugs. Hoffman immediately calls 911. Julie ends up in the hospital under Graham Lester's care. Cross even shows up to visit her right in front of Hoffman. Under the influence of Lester, who she has been having strange dreams about, leaves the hospital with him and gets a new lawyer other than Hoffman. A jury consultant is selected but most people in the city have already decided that Avedon is guilty. By a new judge, bail is reinstated and Avedon is set free. Ray digs up some information on a man named Rusty who Hoffman believes was involved in Dave's murder. He finds out that he used to live in Mexico and was addicted to drugs. It was believed that Rusty called Cross who later got Dave killed. Ray also finds out that Graham Lester was almost charged with given lethal prescriptions but was let off for some unknown reason.

Following up on some mysterious magnetic disturbances, Loengard and Sayers head North to Chiliwack, Alaska. There, Reverend Gary Barrow, a local minister, introduces them to his uncle, Tug Barrow. Told of an old Tlingit Indian legend about a star that fell from the sky 2,000 years ago, John and Kim suspect the tribe had contact with the Hive long ago and may even be guarding a ship that crashed near their village in 100BC. But, while investigating the sacred Tlingit site, John and Kim are caught in the massive Alaskan earthquake of 1964.
