In order to get rid of the annoying confidant, Bergmann and Schulz push Posch off a railway bridge a little later. A perfect plan - if it weren't for an eyewitness to the second murder. And if Posch hadn't leaked information to nurse Ines beforehand... Brandtner and his colleagues quickly establish a connection between the two murders. But then they get an unexpected adversary in the form of Krapp, an officer of the state police, who allegedly investigates Schweiger himself. Krapp unceremoniously relieves Brandtner of the case. When the mother of the young Iris Manker, who has been missing for a week, turns to Brandtner for help, he makes a disturbing discovery: Felix Rieder, of all people, was last seen with the girl. The photographer also readily admits to having taken photos with Iris for a coffee table book, but he cannot explain her disappearance. Brandtner lacks the evidence to pin down Rieder, but the inspector does not admit defeat so easily, a dramatic cat-and-mouse game unfolds...
