The Bill - Season 17 - Episode 31
A man matching the description of a local paedophile is seen lurking outside a local school, but when the police visit him, he denies it. Outside the school, PC Reg Hollis sees three men fighting, and one of them bundles a struggling young boy into a car, one of the men in the fight runs but is arrested, and he denies knowing the boy. PC Vicky Hagen pursues in the Area Car, but dents the side when she swerves to avoid a head-on collision. The police investigate the case as an abduction, but the boy's aunt reports that he is safe and well and living with his mother - or as safe as he can be, since his mother is living with local scumbag Shane Weller. The boy Jack's mother tells Sgt. Boyden that the man they have in custody is Murad Gocek, Jack's Turkish father, and that he wants to take the boy back to Turkey with him. When Jack goes missing for real, his aunt tells Boyden that his father is staying in a hostel, and that Weller is on his way there. As the police arrest Weller's thugs, Weller drives his car towards a fleeing Gocek and his son. PC Hagen drives between them, totalling the Area Car which, in addition to her two recent PolAccs, results in the instant loss of her police driver's licence.

Part Three - In Another Life: Harker tells Cullen that he knows Leroy didn't kill DS Hanbury, but CID use the charge as leverage to convince Leroy to help them catch Resenbrink. Rickman attends a possibly racially motivated attack on Didi Marr, the boy who was found with heroin on the Bronte Estate. His attacker is Nicky Gable, and the racial element of the case becomes unlikely when it is revealed that Gable is in mourning for his mixed-race brother. Harker arranges with Leroy to escape, and offers to clear him of the murder charge on the condition that he ends his relationship with Rickman. With Leroy's help, Cullen and Pennington arrest Resenbrink, but when he is freed on bail, disaster strikes.

Steve and Dave are talking when a speeding driver goes past. The driver tells Dave that the hospital had just rang and her husband was critical. Suzy calls on the driver because she returned home to find it burgled. Dave and Steve are sent to check out the address of the lady at the hospital(that Danny overhears) and surprises 2 blokes. While Tony is driving the burglars' van, one of them get into the van and tells Tony to get a move on. Tony and Norika are called to check a domestic disturbance. Norika is concerned about the asian wife. The husband is very dominating. The domestic starts again. On entering the house Norika and Tony find the husband stabbed and his wife in shock with a knife in her hand. Norika didn't notice the knife at first. The wife claims it was an accident. The Bill - Season 12 - Episode 9
Uniform and CID are on the lookout for escaped prisoner Jim Brodie, so both Brodie's wife and his drug dealer are under observation. PC Nick Slater and WPC Cathy Marshall pursue two burglers down to the riverfront, where one of them gives Slater a severe beating. Marshall sees a person on the barges and gives chase. By the time their backup arrives, delayed by PC Reg Hollis' dodgy belly, Marshall has disappeared. When her dead body is fished out of the river, the two crooks she and Slater had been pursuing are questioned over her possible murder. Searching the barge that Marshall was last seen, CID find evidence that someone has been sleeping rough on board - and it looks like it's their escaped prisoner, Brodie. The river police intercept Brodie fleeing to Amsterdam on his friend's boat, but there is not enough evidence to charge him for Cathy Marshall's murder.

A Polish shopkeeper tells police he was attacked by three black youths, and DC Lennox and DC Proctor arrest the main suspect, Davy Rawlings. After an attempted escape, Rawlings accuses Lennox of racial abuse, saying that he called him a 'black bastard' during the arrest. As usual, Ch. Supt. Brownlow scrambles into damage control with more regard for the Met's public image than for the welfare of his officers.

Danny and Vik visit a burnt out flat where Vik's theory of racially motivated arson force him to take the law into his own hands. On leaving the estate they pursue a stolen car and discover guns under the seat. It's traced to recently released hard man, Michael Bowker.
