Hester-Sue has bought black children to join the rest of the blind school and they all continue the journey onwards to Walnut Grove. In the end it takes the words of a little blind black boy to teach her that prejudice is wrong, and Harriet comes to a crossroads in her life, whilst Adam will have to face his deepest fear as he comes to a crossing of his own.

Adam is left to die in the desert after two thieves take $5,000 and his horse from him. Near death, he stumbles into an old prospector named Kane who offers to lend him a mule and supplies in exchange for three day's work at his mine. Kane, however, turns out to be a demented madman. He holds Adam prisoner and tortures him to prove his theory that anyone could be driven to kill, even a man as rational as Adam. This is Pernell Robert's favorite episode along with "The Wooing Of Abigail Jones".

Zepke has had Souchek imprisoned and plans to replace him with a double who will endorse him. The IMF use an infected mosquito to make the double, Nagorski, ill. Phelps and Cinnamon are called in as doctor and nurse to tend to him while Rollin impersonates a Cardinal and sees through Nagorski's impersonation. He escapes from an airtight sarcophagus and helps Barney and Willy enter the monastery through a booby-trapped tunnel before their air runs out. When Jim has Nagorski placed in an oxygen tent, the others open up the wall behind him, take out Nagorski and replace him with Souchek whom they've secretly freed. Zepke has Souchek-as-Nagorski-as-Souchek give a speech, but Souchek doesn't say what Zepke was expecting...

When the blind school closes up, the people of Walnut Grove decide to make the old Reverend's house a blind school. Charles leads the students to their new school. Mrs. Oleson comes along on the trip because she believes that a prominent person will be with them. + This story is in part about racism. It begins with Joe Kagan's membership to the church in Walnut Grove, something Mrs. Oleson is very much against as he is black. Elsewhere, the blind school is forced to close. Charles and Joe Kagan lead the group of blind students through the woods to their new school in Walnut Grove, but not before Harriet has joined them, willing and eager because she hears they will be joined by more blind students and their teacher, who isn't blind, Hester-Sue Terhune. Harriet says the name Terhune is very prominent and it must be a sophisticated woman with a great upbringing. She buys a new dress and even wears a fancy wig. Harriet walks as she refuses to sit next to Joe Kagan on one of the wagons.

Caine, while walking through a dense fog, happens upon a man who is hanging and he himself is then shot. When he awakens, he finds himself in the company of a sculptor played by John Drew Barrymore (Drew's father). Caine is later accused of the murder of the hanging man and Barrymore's character comes to his defense. This is a really good episode and on the DVD David Carradine has an interesting commentary that accompanies this particular episode.

Laura and Albert come up with another plan. But in the end, it takes the joint efforts of the school children to get the bully to be nice.
