Award-winning architect Piers Taylor and actress and property enthusiast Caroline Quentin (who previously presented Restoration Home for BBC Two) explore a range of incredible architect-designed houses in extreme locations around the world. Whether built into the side of a cliff, nestled in a forest, perched at the top of a mountain or under the earth, these are homes that connect to their environment in a spectacular way. Each episode of the 4x60' series is themed according to the houses' environments: Coast, Forest, Mountain and Underground, with Caroline and Piers travelling to locations ranging from North America, Australasia and Europe. To explore how these dramatic designs function as both works of architecture and as real houses, they stay overnight, eat meals and spend time in the homes. Piers and Caroline are a new and entertaining pairing of a property expert and an architect, both bringing their own expertise, humour and experience as they meet some of the owners and architects of these incredible buildings.

Piers Taylor and Caroline Quentin head to Norway to discover four extraordinary homes in a country where architecture is influenced by incredible landscapes and the extreme climate. Properties include Vega Cottage, on Vega Island, 600km north of Oslo near the Arctic Circle, a truly remote family retreat delicately perched on rocks and overlooking the beach.

Season 2 - Episode 1 - Aired 2/28/2018
Award-winning architect Piers Taylor and actress and property enthusiast Caroline Quentin return to explore more extraordinary homes around the world. In the opening episode, the pair travel to Portugal, where they come across four very different properties. First, they visit a ultramodern house located in the Portuguese Riviera, before travelling to Penela, to view a property owned by British ex-pats Neil and Shirley. The pair then visit a house built within a pine forest near the Atlantic coast, before ending their journey around Portugal at a property hidden in the mountainous region of Peneda-Geres National Park.
#3 - Israel
Season 2 - Episode 8 - Aired 6/27/2018
Piers Taylor and Caroline Quentin head to Israel, where they discover four extraordinary homes, designed to combat the heat and inspired by rich cultural and historical traditions. Among the properties are Barud House in Jerusalem, made from 50,000 white stone tiles, arranged into a symmetrical pattern that casts shadows across the house all day. The final stop is the village of Musmus and the House of Three Gardens, where Tel Aviv architect Ron Fleisher has designed a house that combines traditional Islamic architecture with modernism.

Season 2 - Episode 2 - Aired 3/7/2018
Architect Piers Taylor and Caroline Quentin travel to Switzerland in search of four extraordinary homes. They begin their journey in a tiny hamlet called Jeurs and visit a four-bedroom house, before travelling to Brissago to see a property with views across Lake Maggiore. Next, the pair head to a remarkable 'S'-shaped home outside of Zurich, before reaching the final house overlooking Lake Lucerne.

Piers Taylor and Caroline Quentin explore bold and extraordinary homes in Spain, a country renowned for experimental and fearless architecture. They include a metal home in the foothills of the Pyrenees that is more like a piece of art, an architect's home in Madrid made of seven vast concrete and steel beams and a space-age circular building in the wilderness of Aragon.

Season 2 - Episode 4 - Aired 5/3/2018
Piers Taylor and Caroline Quentin explore four glamorous and beautifully designed homes in Florida. Properties include one of the largest homes to feature on the series, a waterfront plot in Miami's Indian Creek comprising two concrete block stacked at right angles and for sale at almost $30million. The duo also visit a self-build inspired by the modernists of the 1940s set in a lush jungle of a garden and a unique home comprising of three separate buildings raised on stilts.

Architect Piers Taylor and property enthusiast Caroline Quentin explore unique homes in India, including a house built in the highlands outside of Mumbai, and another within the mountainous scenery of the Western Ghats. Elsewhere, the pair also visit a riverside bolthole drawing on Indian architectural heritage, before ending with a unusual building named 'Collage House'.

Piers Taylor and Caroline Quentin head to Japan, where they discover four extraordinary homes, built with great craftsmanship, combining high tech and a deep respect for tradition. Properties include the 'Glass House for a Diver' on the coast at Etajima, an all-glass building inspired by the chambers of an ants' nest, with rough concrete blocks chosen to surround the delicate home.
