Match of the Day 2 (otherwise known as MOTD2) is a football highlights programme shown on BBC Two in the United Kingdom. It was created in 2004 when the BBC regained the right to broadcast Premier League highlights. Broadcast on Sunday evenings, usually later than 10 p.m., it is advertised as a "light-hearted look at the Premier League's action", referring to its more fan focused presentational style than the Saturday night version. Launched with an anchor of Adrian Chiles and analysis from two pundits. Adrian Chiles became popular in this role. In 2010 he was replaced by Colin Murray who left Channel 5 to take up the position at the beginning of the 2010/11 season and to also host the BBC World Cup coverage in 2010.

Meanwhile, in east London, Arsenal face a serious test of their top-four credentials as they take on a West Ham side who themselves have European aspirations. This fixture last season ended in a thrilling 3-3 draw, with the Gunners coming back from three goals down to salvage a point. Reigning champions Manchester City showcased their current superiority over neighbours United with a performance of class and control throughout their 2-0 win at Old Trafford in November. Nonetheless, United were similarly impressive in defeating City by the same scoreline in the most recent meeting at the Etihad Stadium a year ago, while only three of the past 17 matches between them have been won by the home side. Watford have endured a tough season since promotion, with Roy Hodgson becoming their third manager of the campaign in January. Hodgson has never been relegated from the top flight but has his work cut out here in a fixture Arsenal have won 12 times out of 15 in the Premier League
