6 friends started a television production company, "De Parelvissers" (The Pearlfishers). 7 years later one of them, Jan De Ridder, took 100 million francs out of the bank and disappeared without a trace. Shortly after that the company went bankrupt. Another five years later the younger brother of Jan, Piet De Ridder, invites the other 'Pearlfishers" to a remote house in the Ardens, to make a documentary film about the company and hoping that together they may find some answers about what might have happened to Jan.

"De Parelvissers" was founded in 1994 by a group of friends-for-life and quickly became one of the most successful television production companies in Flanders. After six years Jan De Ridder, one of the founders, disappears without a trace and with a hundred million Belgian francs from De Parelvissers' bank account. The company goes bankrupt and the friends lose touch with each other. Five years later Piet, Jan's younger brother, gathers everyone in the Ardennes because he wants to create a documentary about Jan's disappearance.
