Midsummer Eve is approaching and Fredde and Alex plan to celebrate with their families and friends in the archipelago. To Alex's chagrin, the charmer Palle manages to get invited and to top it all off, stingy Ove has also snagged an invitation. They have barely finished singing the first nub verse before leftist scheming and intrigue begin.

Alex and Fredde try to outdo each other in culinary experiences, which ends up with Alex's ambitions exceeding both his own and the electrical cabinet's capacity. Anna accompanies Mickan to the gym but has difficulty keeping up with the other girls' jargon.

She thinks the mother's group is becoming a competitive arena where mothers compare their children's development.

Ove's attempts to make contact cause Alex to lose patience, something he regrets when he discovers that Ove is on the golf club's board.
