Kaede appears and uses Maverick's copied power to restore the memories of the other heroes. Kotetsu deduces and explains to the other heroes that Maverick is a memory-manipulating NEXT and the one responsible for framing him. Barnaby arrives on the scene, but Kaede fails to restore his memory because she was patted on the shoulder moments ago by Keith, replacing Maverick's power with his. Kotetsu dons his usual suit and lures Barnaby away to try and reawaken his memories some other way. Meanwhile, Maverick sends the fake Wild Tiger after the other heroes.

Barnaby attempts to confront Jake, but he manages to escape when Kotetsu charges in, causing Barnaby to lose trust in him. Ivan, who had been forced to act as a decoy in the form of Jake, is recovered and sent to the hospital. Jake challenges the heroes in a series of one-on-one fights, promising to surrender if he loses, but blow up the city's support columns if he wins. The first two heroes, Keith "Sky High" Goodman and Antonio "Rock Bison" Lopez, are easily defeated by Jake's ability to produce barriers. As Ivan reveals to the higher ups that Ouroboros' Kriem is controlling the Mad Bears piloting the mechs, Kotetsu fights a one-sided battle against Jake and ends up seriously injured. Agnes manages to delay the next match until morning to give the higher ups time to set up a jamming signal for the mechs. As Barnaby prepares for his match, Jake announces he'll destroy half the city if Barnaby loses.

As the heroes mourn Kotetsu's apparent death, Maverick sends in several more H-01 androids to attack them, but they are shut down thanks to a safety mode implimented by Barnaby's parents. As Maverick kills Rotwang and boasts that he won't be found guilty, Agnes, who has also regained her memory, reveals his intentions to the public. Pushed into a corner, Maverick takes Kaede hostage, but she is saved by Kotetsu, who had only been passed out. After revealing that he is not actually the leader of Ouroboros, Maverick uses his powers on himself, leaving him braindead. As Maverick is taken into custody, only to be killed by Lunatic, Kotetsu announces his retirement, with Barnaby deciding to retire too, so he can start his own life. A year later, Kotetsu, despite his decreased powers, returns to his hero duties, shortly followed by Barnaby.

Kotetsu tries to understand what is going on whilst evading the heroes, while Yuri becomes suspicious when he finds that there are no files on Kotetsu and that all data about Wild Tiger has been blocked. Meanwhile, Kaede is told the truth about Kotetsu being Wild Tiger and decides to head towards Stern Bild. Kotetsu is cornered by Karina and he tries to prove his identity by telling her things only the two of them would know, but he is attacked by a new 'Wild Tiger'. Yuri, believing in Kotetsu's innocence, appears as Lunatic and helps him escape. Kotetsu figures out that Maverick framed him and reunites with Ben, who gives him his old Wild Tiger suit. As Kaede reaches Stern Bild, she has a brief run-in with Maverick, unwittingly copying his power in the process. Donning his suit, Kotetsu decides to call out the other heroes.

Barnaby tells Kotetsu and Nathan about the Ouroboros syndicate who killed his parents, becoming frustrated that he has lost another lead. Nathan theorizes that the mysterious NEXT user is killing members of the Ouroboros syndicate to keep them quiet. With Barnaby not answering his calls, Kotetsu is temporarily paired up with Karina to stop a hostage situation. Afterward, the CEO of Kotetsu's company has him and Barnaby try out some prototype chambers to try and relieve their nerves, though Barnaby still has nightmares. Afterward, the heroes are called in to head into a crime syndicate hideout for a live broadcast, but just as they are about to move, the mysterious NEXT attacks the hideout. As the other heroes unsuccessfully try to save as many as they can, Barnaby pursues the culprit, who identifies himself as Lunatic, preaching his own type of justice. Although Lunatic escapes, the heroes manage to revive one of the criminals as a witness, despite not being a member of Ouroboros.

As Kotetsu and Barnaby struggle against H-01 whilst waiting for their powers to recharge, Rotwang continues to stir up the heroes to try and make them sacrifice the others, hiding the fact that pressing the button on their collars will kill them all anyway. Although Kotetsu and Barnaby continue to struggle even when they activate their powers, Karina's faith in them helps calm the other heroes whilst Kaede, using Karina's powers, manages to stop Rotwang and rescue the heroes. Kotetsu manages to hold H-01 down, allowing Barnaby to destroy it with its own weapon. However, due to his power running out, Kotetsu is unable to dodge the hit in time and receives apparently fatal injuries, much to the horror of Barnaby, Kaede and the other heroes.

Barnaby begins his fight with Jake, but is unable to hit him. Kotetsu awakes injured in the hospital, but has a realisation about Jake and leaves to find Barnaby, who is on the verge of losing. Kotetsu tells Barnaby he has figured out that Jake can read people's movements using a second power, super hearing, and gives him a sound grenade as a countermeasure. Barnaby uses the grenade, which initially seems ineffective; however, it turns to be a stun grenade, causing Jake to drop his guard and letting Barnaby defeat him. Kotetsu reveals that Jake's second power is in fact mind reading; he proposed a fake plan to Barnaby in order to mislead Jake. Kriem threatens to blow up the city using the mechs, but they have been taken out of commission by Blue Rose, Fire Emblem and Dragon Kid in the meantime. Jake tries to escape, but when he shoots at Kotetsu, he hits Kriem's helicoper instead, causing it to crash on him. At the end of the episode, Barnaby adresses Kotetsu by name, a sign that he now trusts him as his partner.

Kotetsu takes on Barnaby's attacks, trying to get him to remember him, eventually succeeding when he calls him by his nickname. As they head back towards Apollon Media with Saito, the company's head researcher, they learn that Maverick has taken Kaede and the other heroes hostage, holding them at Justice Tower. Upon arriving at the tower, they discover that the fake Wild Tiger is a robot called H-01 created by Rotwang, working in cahoots with Maverick, who is planning to replace all the heroes with androids. Meanwhile, the rest of the heroes are trapped in cages with bombs attached to their necks. Rotwang informs them that only the first to deactivate his/her bomb will be spared, at the cost of the others' lives, with all of them being killed if none of them do so before Tiger and Barnaby are defeated by the robot.

He soon finds the attackers are a group of mechs being piloted by living Mad Bears, with more bombings taking around the city. With the heroes overwhelmed, Baranaby decides to postpone his prison visit to assist Kotetsu. Just then, the culprits reveal themselves to be Ouroboros, putting the entire island at hostage and demanding the release of Jake in exchange.

Barnaby hears Kotetsu telling his mother on the phone he will quit being a hero and confronts him about it. Kotetsu tries to dissuade him in vain and Barnaby berates him claiming that he can't afford to have a partner who can't trust him before leaving. While confiding with his foster father Albert Maverick, the founder of Hero TV, Barnaby receives a call from his aunt Martha, who helps him remember that he wasn't with him on the day of the murder just like he claimed. Upon this revelation, Albert tells the truth to him that he is in fact the man who murdered his parents after they discovered his connection with Ouroboros and that he is a NEXT with the power to alter the memories of others, and just like he did when Barnaby was a child, he uses it on him once again.

A long battle and chase that span across the town of Wytearp ends when Favaro Leone the bounty hunter escapes the grasp of Kaisar Lidfald, a disgraced knight who suffered humiliation by Favaro. After successfully tracking down and killing a criminal who summons demons, Favaro collects his bounty and celebrates at the local town's tavern. While Favaro brags about his feats, a mysterious woman overhears him boasting about knowing how to get to Helhiem quickly. She then confronts Favaro outside and demands directions to Helhiem. The discussion is cut short when the criminal's younger brother appears. Favaro underestimates the brother's summoned demon and is overwhelmed only to be saved by the mysterious woman who reveals powers that like a demon. She easily overwhelms the demon while Favaro takes out the brother criminal. Busy gloating Favaro is caught in the way of debris and he passes out as the demon woman draws closer, appearing to kiss him. Favaro then awakens at an inn, thinking it all a dream only to find himself suddenly declared a "demon" and he has grown a tail.

The criminals that Barnaby arrested on his first case are killed in prison by a mysterious flame, with Nathan "Fire Emblem" Seymore suspected of the murder. Kotetsu is dragged in to help provide data while Nathan is suspended from the show, where they witness another inmate being killed by the strange flames. Meanwhile, Barnaby investigates a strange mark of the Ouroboros that was worn by the murderer of his parents. While feeling guilty about not being able to save someone, Kotetsu and Nathan are attacked by an armed mech, armed with a powerful flamethrower. Although the culprit escapes, Kotetsu recognizes the culprit as the repairman who planted the elevator bomb, with Barnaby deducing that he plans to kill anyone who say his face at the scene, which includes HERO TV's producer, Agnes Joubert. As the heroes manage to save Agnese and corner the culprit, Barnaby spots the Ouroboros mark on his neck. As the other heroes try to stop him from going too far, the culprit takes Agnes hostage before mentioning he had nothing to do with the prison killings. It's at this point that the holder of the blue flame, a mysterious NEXT user, appears and kills the culprit before disappearing.

After no success the mysterious woman from the night before appears, declaring she placed a spell on Favaro; until Favaro tells her the shortcut to Helhiem, she will not undo the spell as it is a contract. Since Favaro lied he declares he has to show the woman the way and they leave town. Later in town the Knights of Jeanne D'Arc appear, declaring they are searching for a demon. Kaiser, thinking it to be Favaro, declares he will capture and deliver it as he is a knight himself. He is quickly dismissed due to his bounty hunter band though he protests he was forced to become one after his family fell to ruin, something he blames Favaro for. With Favaro the demon woman, named Amira, she is looking for her mother who is in Helhiem. As Favaro contemplates killing Amira to free himself of the spell Kaisar appears, declaring Favaro a demon and guilty of kidnapping Amira, only to be knocked out by Favaro and the two escape again. In the next town the Knights appear, saying they're looking for a female demon with one wing; Favaro who is alone seizes his chance by selling out Amira. The Knights chase Amira while Favaro hopes them killing her will release the spell. However he is forced back together with Amira; seeing she's unharmed the two run from the knights who chase them to a bridge. The two tumble down into the river below and out of the knights' sight. Amira then asks Favaro if he is a liar and he protests, asking if his face looks that of a liar only to make a goofy devious expression.

Rita attempts to administer the last of the antidotes to Jeanne but fails only for Michael to successfully give it to Jeanne through a kiss after she impales him. Jeanne is freed, turning back into a saint while Michael's physical form disappears and he reassures her the world needs her. As Beezlebub prepares to destroy the angels protecting Bahamut's barrier Azazel attacks him and engages in battle for revenge. Kaisar duels with the demonic Favaro and upon seeing how he's become a true demon shoots him in the chest. Amira emerges from the Transcendent Key's orb, now with angel's wings. Lavalley appears before Kaisar, only for Rita to warn to get way from the knight. With the barrier fallen Bahamut beings to absorb Amira while everyone looks on helplessly; as Kaisar watches in disbelief Lavalley shoves him over the edge of the flying fortress before reveling in Bahamut's awakening.

Rita seeks out Bacchus and inquires about Martinet but the two run into a severely injured Azazel. The demon lord Beelzebub appears before the trio, capturing Kaisar and Favaro, telling Amira to fulfill her purpose before showing her mother. Martinet reveals in actually Beezlebub recreated Amira from Nicole as an imitation vessel and he is her "true" birth parent as all Amira's memories are fabricated since as she is a mere tool to release Bahamut. Amira's compromised emotional state causes the key's seal to unlock, falling into the demon's hands as the completed Transcendent Key. Azazel agrees to help Rita if she takes him to Abos while Favaro pretends to join the demons but Martient sees through the plan and forcibly makes Favaro a demon.

Rita manages to save Kaisar and reveals that Lavalley is really, Gilles de Rais, a sorcerer with a bounty who is the one behind Bahamut's revival as well as all the deception. The demons and gods team up to fight against the uncontrollable Bahamut. Kaisar attempts to attack Lavalley only to find they have no effect before Lavalley reveals he is Martient as well. Elsewhere a heavily wounded Beelzebub curses Martient's deception of using Amira to be able control Bahamut before Azazel finishes him off, ending his revenge. A bloody Favaro appears, revealing he's not dead and begins combat against Kaisar seemingly by Lavalley's command. Favaro gains the upper hand before proceeding to cut Kaisar's hand off, presenting it with the bounty armband to Lavalley. Favaro catches Lavalley off guard by warning him about having a bounty on his head before Kaidar recites the bounty armband's incantation thus turning Lavalley into a bounty tablet. As Rita tends to Kaisar's wounds Favaro reveals that Kaisar managed to shoot him with the antidote, turning him back to normal and the fight was an act. As Bahamut continues to rage Favaro declares it's up to him to stop it and he'll kill Amira as it's the only way to stop the beast as well free her from sadness. Kaisar decides to join Favaro to save Amira, still believing there is a chance to separate her from Bahamut. In order keep Bahamut still for a minute the demons and gods work together to contain the beast to allow Favaro and Kaisar to approach it. With tears in his eyes Favaro screams Amira's name as he stabs Bahamut, unleashing a beam of light. Amira then appears before him, chiding him for being late and he promises to take her somewhere better than Helheim. A

Heaven's forces try to maintain the barrier around the seal Bahamut as it begins to crumble. Elsewhere Favaro and Rita give chase to the demons who nabbed Amira and Kaisar though Favaro would rather leave them. In the demon Azazel's floating fortress Amira is tortured for information about the God's Key while Kaisar watches helplessly. Rita and Favaro manage to borrow the god Bacchus' flying carriage after Favaro proves his commitment by breaking his bounty hunter's band, making him an ordinary outlaw. The two then manage to break into the fortress but get separated when Azazel goads Kaisar into fighting Favaro though Rita quickly breaks up the fight. Jeanne d'Arc's Knights ambush the demon fortress, causing a diversion that allows Favaro, Rita and Kaisar to rescue Amira only to end up before Azazel. Favaro realizes Azazel is the demon responsible for his father's death. When Azazel attacks Amira a mysterious force within her blows him off the fortress, sending him tumbling below, though he now understands who sent her.

The demon legion descends upon the city to claim the God Key while the humans go on the defense. A happy Amira appears before Favaro, claiming she met her father within the city, before dashing off. The King's forces battle the demons at a losing pace while Amira happily stuffs herself inside the kitchen while Favaro, Kaisar and Rita attempt to get information about her father. Azazel infiltrates the castle, leaving carnage behind as he seeks Amira who is now passed out. He proceeds to taunt Kaisar about his father's death, admitting his involvement but Favaro takes the blame and challenges Azazel, buying time to get Amira and the God Key away. Eventually Kaisar comes back to aid Favaro and Azazel recalls he is actually the killer of both their fathers. Kaisar sacrifices himself to buy time for Jeanne to charge up her sacred weapon Maltet who then delivers a decisive blow to the distracted Azazel. The tide changes, the humans winning and Favaro manages to save Kaisar but in the meantime when Rita finishes fighting and goes back to wake Amira she finds her missing.

Maverick sets up a bomb explosion to distract Kotetsu and has Samantha kidnapped and later killed, destroying the photograph in the process. When Kotetsu starts getting close to the truth by finding Barnaby's pin in Maverick's office, Maverick decides to frame Kotetsu for Samantha's murder and erase the memories of everyone at Hero TV of Kotetsu being Wild Tiger.

It is revealed Favaro's father, Barossa, was a bandit chief but Favaro chose to strike it out on his own as a bounty hunter. Meanwhile Kaisar continues his pursuit of Favaro with Rita the zombie necromancer tagging along. Rita finds out Kaisar and Favaro were childhood friends but Favaro used Kaisar to get information to sabotage Kaisar's father's mission, leading to the family's downfall. However Barossa died not long after the raid when a demon attacked him and his men, leaving Amon the sole survivor. When a giant crab, the Shipwrecker, appears and wrecks havoc on the ship, which Amira fends off easily, Amon reveals he has a pact with a demon and planned both of Kaisar and Favaro's fathers' downfalls. Kaisar's then ship crashes into Amon's, unleashing Rita's zombie pirates on Amon's goons. Favaro and Amon engage in battle only for Amon to be eaten by the Shipwrecker. As Kaisar confronts Favaro the demons pursuing Amira capture her and Kaisar who attempts to shield her from the attack. Kaisar and Amira are whisked away, leaving Favaro and Rita behind.

Kaisar warms to the doctor's young but serious and distant daughter, Rita, recalling his upbringing as a knight and the disaster that befell his family. Upon confronting the monsters it is revealed that a fog infects victim's minds to believe an illusion: The village really is rundown and inhabited with zombies. Favaro and Amira show themselves and confront the bounty, the doctor's daughter, who is a necromancer and has commanded the zombie filled town for the past 200 years.

Back in the Capital Jeanne is framed by an unknown demon for attempted murder on the king as well as slaughtering of guards and the officer Gaurin. The Angels continue to fight to maintain the seal on Bahamut as it grows increasingly unstable. Kaisar catches up to Amira and Favaro in a forest where they are transported to an alternate space and free an imprisoned dragon when they remove a poisonous barb of Bahamut from his foot. The dragon reveals that when Amira's key meets the seal Bahamut will released, as it has been countless times before. Meanwhile the god clan and demon clan accuse the other of plotting against them and amass their forces to crush the other. Amira cries when she learns the world will end because of her, meaning her mother's death though Favaro resolves to change fate after enduring a vision of Bahamut and recalling his father's words. The King orders the death of Jeanne by burning at the stake and commands Lavalley to capture and kill any of her supporters while beneath the castle Rita investigates the cause of madness and trickery. The trio arrive in Prudisia while Favaro is troubled by what the dragon told him: Should Amira ever be close to Bahamut, she'll fuse with it permanently due to her god and demon blood as only a human vessel can maintain the seal; only the way to prevent the fusing is to kill Amira.

Lavalley reveals Amira is half angel and half demon, her mother being the angel Nicole and that he is not her father but a human former bodyguard to her mother. When Amira was a baby the demons kidnapped her and accelerated her growth, Amira really being 5 years old. When Amira says she was promised to see her mother in Helheim if she stole the key Lavalley tells her that is impossible and uses the united pendents to reveal Nicole's true location: Prudisia, the Valley of the Demons.

Thus, they start having the heroes help out with the community in order to gain the people's trust, with Kotetsu and Barnaby visiting a school alongside Ivan "Origami Cyclone" Karelin, who has a lot of self-doubt about his worth as a hero with only shape-shifting powers. He and Barnaby hear of Ivan's closest friend, Edward, who was the top of his class until an incident where he accidentally shot a hostage he was trying to save led to him being charged with murder. However, Edward escapes from prison and attacks Ivan, blaming him for hesitating to back him up during the incident. After rescuing him, Kotetsu encourages Ivan that he needs to be the one to stop Edward from committing more crimes. As Ivan goes to confront Edward, Lunatic appears and targets Edward. Ivan stands to protect Edward before Kotetsu and Barnaby arrive on the scene. As they fight Lunatic, they learn his targets are not members of Ouroboros, but murderers, later escaping after Kotetsu breaks a little of his mask. After Edward is put back into police custody, Ivan is commended for his rescue and vows to move out of the background, whilst Barnaby wonders why Kotetsu does so much for him. At the end of the episode, it is revealed that Lunatic is Yuri Petrov, TV Hero's curator.
