Devil Survivor 2: The Animation - Season 1 - Episode 4

Following Keita's sudden death, Hibiki remains visibly shaken due to the fact that they couldn't prevent it. As Merak arrives in the city, Yamato has JP's members move Hibiki into position to intercept it. At the Osaka Juso Ohashi Bridge, the Japanese military tries and fails in their attack against Merak while Botis and "The Anguished One" discuss the state of affairs. With of the loss of most Osaka's spiritual barriers, Merak fully manifests itself and makes its way to the final barrier - "Tsutenkaku". Meanwhile, as Hibiki is deployed into the field, Hinako and Io discuss his mental state due to Keita's death. Meanwhile at the Umeda Sky Building, JP's summoners try to stop Merak with a swarm of Itsumade but it kills them all in an instant. As Io heads to Hibiki's location, Merak then launches a devastating ice attack, at the "Tsutenkaku" barrier, which survives, but the attack leaves a path of destruction and kills many more people, upsetting Hibiki. Not wanting any more people to die, Hibiki abandons his post and proceeds further up the battleground to confront Merak. Io arrives just as Hibiki departs and Yamato sends a "replacement" for Hibiki. Hibiki arrives at the current battleground at Kawaramachi in the Osaka Chūō-ku Ward and intervenes in Hinako and a platoon of JP's summoners fight against Merak. Hibiki has Byakko unleash a strong lightning attack at Merak, which doesn't have any effect. Merak counterattacks and Hinako protects Hibiki but gets severely injured which then shatters his fighting resolve. In the wake of the attack, the "Anguished One" approaches Hibiki and introduces himself as Alcor. He informs Hibiki, that because of his "choice" to fight, Io has taken his place at the final defensive line, causing Hibiki to head over there. Io's feelings allow her to summon Kikuri-Hime and proceeds to attack Merak with support from the JP's summoners. Although Kikuri-Hime manages to severely damage Merak, it sheds its outer layer and begins charging up i

Meanwhile, a new student from Tibet named Lana Linchen has arrived at West Genetics Academy. As Kazuya, Arthur and Kaho head to the girls' dormitory, they are confronted by the 3rd to 5th-ranked Second-year Pandoras, Audrey Duval, Tris Mackenzie and Aika Takeuchi, whom all lost to Satellizer at the battle royale and wants to take it out on Kazuya, and tortures Arthur and Kaho for interfering. In anger, Kazuya activates his Freezing powers but soon lose consciousness as Lana arrives to rescue them and defeats the second-year Pandoras. Informed on what just happened, Satellizer visits the hospitalized Kazuya. As she has a chat with Arthur and a hospitalized Kaho, Lana believes Kazuya is her chosen one (a Limiter) but Arthur and Kaho advise her not to as Kazuya is Satellizer's Limiter. Meanwhile, Attia, Elizabeth Mably and the other third-years discuss about these recent developments.

Kaleido Stage is presenting a new stage production, The Little Mermaid. Kaleido Stage featured this theme before, and a sponsor, Mr. Kenneth, wants someone other than Layla featured for the lead role. At the audition, Sora becomes the only candidate. On the same day, Sora makes an attempt at the featured trick: a trapeze triple somersault jump through flowing water. Her attempt fails, and she is rendered injured and fearful of falling. Consulting Fool, Sora must conquer this fear, or she will lose her ability to see Fool. So with the help of Ken and a martial arts specialist, she gradually works to restore her confidence. Still fearful, she makes one more attempt at the stunt per Kalos's remarks. For her attempt, she uses a blindfold and executes it successfully, despite almost falling again.

After talking with Marion's father, Sora practices on her own to Marion's satisfaction. Mia and Anna join the practice to perfect their routine; after the demonstration, Kalos grants them their proposal.

Nadeshiko's group takes a nice relaxing dip in the hot springs, almost succumbing to the urge to eat before they reach their campsite. Meanwhile, Rin arrives at the Takabotchi Highlands and is overcome by a desire to go to a hot spring too, only to discover the nearest one has closed down. Dejected, Rin decides to climb up the peak, where she is rewarded with a lovely view, before finding a spot to cook some pasta. The club finally arrive at their campsite, where Nadeshiko makes curry for everyone. While the others are asleep, Nadeshiko goes to take a picture of the city lights to send to Rin, who goes to the summit of Mt. Takabotchi to send her a similar view in return.

At the fishing pond the band talks with Kazuo about Greatful Sound. She wants Ryusuke to ask Eddie to come. Ryusuke agrees, but he also wants Beck to play although Ran is strongly against it. Ryusuke says that he'll get Sykes' support in order to get Beck to play. After the movie, Yoshito announces that he's going to play in Greatful Sound along with Belle Ame. Later, Ryusuke explains a dream he had, which is the same Koyuki had some days ago, in which dead rock stars appeared picking up trash (meaning they are cleaning up after Beck). Incidentally, Saku and Taira had had such a dream as well. Later, Maho sneaks into Koyuki's house and decides to sleep over, making him ponder about their relationship. The next day, Koyuki becomes the talk of the school due to his appearance at the Dying Breed movie, while Ryusuke gets in touch with Sykes.
